Our Story
Brass Academy LLC is a private lesson studio, founded in 2018, with the goal of providing the highest quality of musical instruction to northern Virginia.
We aim to offer engaging, student-tailored instruction to students of any age or skill level - from beginners to advanced.
Teacher Pedigree
Each of our instrument-specific teachers is qualified to teach as a college music professor (usually after doctoral studies in performance and pedagogy), and demonstrates professional level performance ability. This means you'll be learning from an expert on your specific brass instrument that can help to jump-start your progress, whether you're just starting out, looking toward all-state or college auditions, or even seeking help to win professional auditions.
Learning Together: The Studio Experience
Brass Academy LLC enjoys offering many of the experiences normally available only to college music students.
Studio classes offer a chance for all like-instrument students to assemble for group instruction and collaboration. This often includes ensemble section playing, quartets, pro guest performances, and students performing for one-another. We try to foster an atmosphere of encouragement and peer camaraderie.
Academy Events offer gatherings that include the various instrument studios (ex. tuba, trombone, trumpet, & horn). These may include performances involving instruments from each studio (such as a brass quintet or orchestra brass section) or attendance of special, recommended concerts.
Brass instruments are at their best when played together in groups! All interested Brass Academy students are encouraged to explore these group opportunities to expand their musical experiences, education, and musical engagement.
