Since March 2020, Brass Academy has offered private lessons via virtual video meetings (typically using Zoom). Our students adjusted exceedingly well to this lesson format and continue to make excellent progress, despite the inconveniences. We treat health and safety as a top priority and intend to explore returning to in-person lesson formats as the medical professionals we consult recommend it as a safe alternative.
We teach brass musicians, currently including trumpets & low brass (trombone, baritone/euphonium, and tuba).
We teach all ages and skill levels, beginner through graduate/professional.
Each student gets an expert teacher that specializes in their specific instrument!
That's right - students here won't waste time trying to learn trumpet from a someone that specializes in guitar or saxophone!
We believe students need to apply new knowledge and skills in order to solidify and hone them. We foster and encourage ensemble/chamber music opportunities (ex. brass quintets, quartets, and trombone ensemble) for Brass Academy students to learn and improve together, building off one another.
Valuable opportunities for studio-wide events, concerts, and masterclasses foster solidarity and enthusiasm for music.
Our teachers are highly qualified professional artist teachers with graduate music degrees (most with doctoral level education in brass performance/pedagogy).
Take lessons on either acoustic or electric guitar!
Learn the techniques and chords required to play songs in your favorite musical styles:
Rock, Folk, Bluegrass, Pop, Funk, Jazz, Classical, etc.
Because guitar lessons are a new offering, we have discounted lesson rates!
Each studio has a Studio Handbook and Policies document, which describes the expectations for both the student and teacher.
This covers studio policies for lesson preparation, practice planning/documentation, etc.
This may also mention some required music books, materials, and/or instrument supplies, for example.
